 Tawlbwrdd is the part of a group referred to as Tafl games. This variant was played in Wales.

Rules

The game is played on a 9x9 or 11x11 board.
The Attacker Side - White.
The Defender Side - Black. The central piece is called the King.

Rules

  1. All pieces move as chess rooks, but can not capture any pieces.
  2. To capture piece, including king, the player should orthogonally sandwiches the opponent's piece between itself and another friendly piece.
  3. The king may make captures.
